Glass Divided Lites
Lites are the separate pieces of glass in a door. Lites can be truly divided, singular pieces or simulated divided. The division is achieved by mullions.
True Divided Lites(TDL): multiple separated pieces of glass divided by mullion lines that go in the glass.
Simulated Divided Lites (SDL): a single section of glass that has the appearance of division through applied mullions.
True Divided Lites - TDL
- True divided lites are easy to replace, repair and clean due to the individual nature
- Has more strength due to the stabilization from the mullions through the glass
- Width of 1-5/8" on the mullions
Simulated Divided Lites - SDL
- More affordable construction
- Has a similar separated design
- Can be used with more narrow mullions, down to 3/4"
